Urban Flora of Varanasi describes 710 higher plant species belonging to 454 genera and 129 families of angiosperms. An effort has been made to provide detailed information of the plants of the regions with reference to their salient features and local uses. Coloured photographs of selected plants have been provided at the end of the book. The index to Botanical and Vernacular names of plants of medicinal importance has been mentioned. The aim of the book is to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date account of the Urban Flora of Varanasi for the benefits of students, teachers, and research scholars in universities, colleges and institutes., . It is hoped that the book will be received by Botanists  with great enthusiasm and zeal.
