This book Terminology in KVK is a collection of nearly two thousand terminologies being used by the experts in KVK system. As KVK experts has to deal with diversified nature of work, issues and farmers problem related to agriculture and allied fields hence, this book may work as reference book for clarity of concept during their daily working. In fact, this may be used as conflict management tool also as it has been observed that people have different opinion about even the clear scientific concepts.
As KVKs are integral part of the National Agricultural Research System
(NARS) by creating a network of Research-Extension system. It aimed assessment of location specific agricultural technologies through technology assessment, refinement and demonstrations apart from this it act as knowledge and resource center of agricultural technology. It's activity revolves around Farmer-centric growth in agriculture and allied sectors through application of appropriate technologies in specific agro-ecosystem perspective. This publication will be light house for guiding the agricultural experts related to crops, fruits, vegetables, livestock, fisheries, women empowerment and small scale enterprises in the district.

Dr. Anupam Mishra is currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Central Agricultural University, Imphal. Prior to this, he was the Director of ICAR-ATARI, Jabalpur, where he successfully managed a network of 100 KVKs across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. His work has extended internationally through collaborations with organizations such as Bioversity International, UNICEF, and GIZ, contributing to the conservation of farmers’ varieties and promoting Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture. Dr. Mishra has an extensive scholarly record, including 40 research articles, 23 books, and 10 book chapters. He was a member of a national-level ICAR mission mode project under NAIP on “Collection, Documentation and Validation of Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITK),” which resulted in seven publications documenting 4,880 ITKs across 23 thematic areas. He also documented 147 institutional IP assets, developed a Decision Support System on medicinal and aromatic plants for local communities and industry stakeholders, and created an enterprise-based database of 6,000 farmers for technology-specific advisory in the North-Eastern Hill Region. Under his guidance as Zonal Project Director and Director of ICAR-ATARI, Jabalpur, KVKs in the zone won four National KVK Awards, three Mahindra Samridhi National KVK Awards, and the PPV&FRA Genome Saviour Award.
Dr. S. R. K. Singh is currently the Director of ICAR-ATARI, Jabalpur. He topped the ARS in 1999 and began his career as a Scientist in Agricultural Extension at ICAR-VPKAS, Almora, Uttarakhand. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Dairy Extension at the National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal. Dr. Singh has received 12 prestigious awards, including the SEE Fellow Award, ISEE Fellow Award, Best Mobilizer Award, Best Extension Scientist, Best Extension Professional Award, three Young Scientist Awards, and the Agriculture Today Award 2021 along with the Dr. Vasant Rao Naik Award for Outstanding Research and Application in Dryland Farming Systems 2021 from ICAR. He has published 130 research articles, including 105 in national and 25 in internationally reputed journals, along with 18 books, 53 bulletins, and 16 book chapters. His current work focuses on research and extension with the KVK system in Central and Eastern India, where he has implemented innovative concepts such as KVK-KMA, KVK-Ring, KVK Technology Park, KVK-ATMA Convergence Model, Methodological Initiatives for Extension Research, Nutri-SMART Village, and agri-preneurship. He has also served on several important ICAR and SAU committees, including the Extension Council of RLBCAU, Jhansi, and the Academic Council of NDVSU, Jabalpur.
Dr. R. K. Yogi has been engaged as a Senior Scientist in Agricultural Economics at ICAR since 2010. He joined ICAR-ATARI, Zone-IX, Jabalpur, where he developed and maintained a database of 100 KVKs to plan, execute, and monitor extension activities across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. In 2012, he moved to ICAR-National Institute of Secondary Agriculture, Ranchi, where he worked on economic impact assessment and market research in collaboration with the World Agroforestry Centre, Nairobi, and the state governments of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal. He contributed to furnishing the NRG Information Cell with a national-level database and is presently engaged in economic dynamics and technology impact assessment at ICAR-Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur. Throughout his career, Dr. Yogi has published and presented over 200 research papers, technical bulletins, book chapters, and popular articles in national and international journals and conferences. He is also an active member of several professional societies of national and international repute.
