                                  About the Authors

 

      Afiya R S, currently pursuing Ph.D. Horticulture (Fruit Science) at Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur. She completed her under graduation in Horticulture (2016 -2020) from Adhiparasakthi Horticultural College, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Kalavai. She completed her postgraduate degree in Horticulture (Fruit Science) from Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur. The author has published 8 research/review papers and one popular article in various reputed journals and magazines. She was recognized for her PG research with Best thesis award by Thribavan University, Nepal during 2022.

      Dr. S. Senthilkumar working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticulture, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur. He completed his UG programme in Agriculture, PG and PhD in Horticulture with the specialization in Fruit Science. He has 9.5 years of teaching and 13 years of research experience in the field of Horticulture. Received 15 research awards including 6 international awards for his contribution in the field of Horticulture. The author also published several research papers on his expertise in various Scopus indexed, NAAS and UGC care list journals of both national and international repute. He served as a resource person for various scientific sessions in the conferences. Being an active member in various agricultural societies, he rendered contribution as a reviewer in several national and international journals. He too served and serving as a member in various University level committees at CUTN and also a Board member in certain external institutes. He has guided 15 Post Graduate students and guiding 3 PhD scholars in Horticulture. His research expertise includes Nursery management, Plant Propagation & Rootstocks, Crop Management & Crop Regulation in Fruit Crops (Tropical & Subtropical fruits) and Sustainable Horticulture. His current research focus with identification and performance analysis of suitable fruit crops as a choice for Cauvery delta region of Tamil Nadu towards the upliftment of rural economy of farming community. Very recently he standardized a production package for water apple in the delta track of Tamil Nadu which enlightened a key way for introduction of the crop in the region. He visited countries like China and Nepal for his research presentations during his career.
