"Seeding Change: Next-Generation Trends in Agriculture Extension" is a forward-looking compilation that explores the evolving landscape of agricultural extension in India and beyond. It begins with a foundational understanding of the origin and evolution of agricultural extension services, contextualizing them within both historical and modern frameworks. The book critically examines market-led extension, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and value chain financing as key drivers of agricultural growth and rural empowerment. It highlights the growing involvement of women and youth in agriculture, addressing gender disparities, challenges in entrepreneurship, and the transformative role of female and young innovators in achieving sustainable practices. Climate resilience features prominently, with chapters on dairy farming, sustainable agriculture, and climate change mitigation strategies. Additionally, the book embraces the digital era, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and IoT into agricultural practices and extension systems. It also underscores the value of Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITK), advocating for the preservation of traditional wisdom in the pursuit of sustainable food security. This volume serves as a crucial resource for extension professionals, researchers, policymakers, and agri-entrepreneurs seeking to adapt to the dynamic trends shaping the future of agriculture.
