About the Book Plant parasitic nematodes are microscopic invertebrate fauna often called as eelworms or roundworms or thread worms, They are distributed all over the world in diverse appearance of habitat and is found in almost each biological niche which make easy continued existence and survival. They cause stern productivity of economically important plants viz.,aromatics, cereals, fibers, fruits, medicinal, pulses, oilseeds and vegetables. Most of them attack roots and other underground plant parts and thus immobilize the infested plant part to supply essential nutrients and water from earth. They either alone or in combination with other pathogens constitute an important constraint to global agricultural production and productivity. There are many kinds of nematodes, commonly they may be either ectoparasitic, semi-endoparasitic, sedentary or migratory endoparasitic associations. In agricultural systems, beneficial nematodes are able to enhance nutrient mineralization. Nematode management could be feasibly adopted through integrated practices or either of the cultural, physical, biological, plant resistance and chemical approaches. Keeping all this in view it was felt necessary to write a book on "Plant Parasitic Nematodes its importance and Management" which can help students, researchers and farmers to know on the subject of nematodes, how they look, the way they damage, associate either shorter or longer durations during their life span , management approach , precautions as biosafety aspects, effect of climate on nematode population and finally how the Farmers income can be doubled by adopting various methods of their control even under Poly-house cultivations which is the urgent demand of the day. The book constituting 11 chapters covering important aspects of its importance and management tactics.
