Advances in Agricultural Extension is a comprehensive volume that highlights the evolving landscape of agricultural extension with a strong emphasis on gender inclusivity, rural entrepreneurship, and innovation. This book explores India’s policy frameworks and development schemes aimed at empowering women through agricultural practices like integrated kitchen gardening, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, sericulture, and horticulture. It presents a global perspective on the vital and diversified roles women extensionists play in agricultural development, and discusses the significance of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), entrepreneurship programs, and rural development initiatives. The chapters also address the status of hortipreneurs in India, the potential of beneficial insect pests for sustainable farming, and the challenges and opportunities faced by women, particularly in regions like Uttarakhand. By blending traditional agricultural knowledge with modern innovations and policy interventions, this book serves as a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers, extension workers, and development practitioners aiming to foster inclusive growth and empowerment in the agricultural sector.
