About The Book

Sustainable Approach to Agri-Business Management presents a diverse and in-depth exploration of the evolving agricultural landscape in India with a sharp focus on sustainability, efficiency, and value chain development. Spanning 25 chapters, the book covers a wide array of topics such as the structure and challenges of the Indian dairy sector, economic and marketing analyses of intercropping systems, and rice yield forecasting—reflecting the need for data-driven strategies in agricultural planning. It emphasizes eco-friendly practices like organic pest management and sustainable input use in crops such as chrysanthemum and groundnut, while also spotlighting tribal livelihoods, indigenous knowledge, and non-timber forest products (NTFPs) from the North Eastern Region. Topics such as agri-startups, market intelligence, supply chain integration, and agribusiness strategies highlight the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in agri-business. Additionally, the book addresses livestock and poultry management, with case studies on traditional pig farming, Mithun rearing, and jackfruit leaf feed trials in rabbits. With insights on bio-waste value addition, millet export promotion, and organic rice efficiency in Sikkim, the book serves as a comprehensive guide for researchers, students, policymakers, and entrepreneurs aiming to drive sustainable, inclusive, and economically viable agri-business models in India.
