About The Book

This practical book has been compiled in the light of the CBCS syllabus which includes different branches of Zoology. A humble attempt has been made to supplement the existing practical books. The book will be of interest to undergraduate and postgraduate students of Indian universities. The contents may be both informative and stimulating.

This book covers a wide array of experiments on biochemistry, cytogenetics, evolution, microbiology, ecology, chemical biology andimmunology. In order to prevent it from becoming too voluminous, some ofthe experiments which are easily available in other books have not been included.

The pictures have been selected after careful consideration from all aspects. Every effort has been made to avoid any error in this book. In spite of this some errors might have crept in. We shall be thankful and happy to receive valuable and constructive suggestions from our learned teachers and readers for further improvement.

The revised edition of Zoology Practical includes changes, as new chapters and exercises have been added.

About Author

Professor (Dr) Shahla Yasmin is heading the Department of Zoology and has been teaching Zoology for 25 years at Patna Women's College, Patna University. She has also been motivating and guiding students for research. She has worked on research projects in the field of Eco-toxicology and has published a good number of research papers in National and International Journals. She has got Chancellor's Award for "Best Teacher" in 2021.

Dr Reshma Sinha, Assistant Professor, Patliputra University has done her Ph.D in the field of Toxicology, received M.Sc. degree in Zoology with specialization in Physiology and Biochemistry from Patna University. She has been teaching and doing research for 15 years, has published research papers in Journals of International repute. She also availed CSIR-UGC Scholarship in India.

Dr. Sumeet Ranjan has specialized in Biotechnology. He is Assistant Professor in Dept. of Zoology, Patna Women's College. He is able to handle the latest equipments and helps the students to learn Molecular, Immunological and Microbiological techniques. He has also published research papers in National and International Journals.
