Dr. Rabindranath Sarma

Dr. Rabindranath Sarma passed MA in Cultural Studies from Tezpur University and PhD from the Department of Folklore Research, Gauhati University. He was Research Associate in the Department of Cultural and Creative Studies, North-Eastern Hills University, Shillong. Dr. Sarma was visiting Professor in the Department of Thai, Silpakorn University, Nakorn Pathom Campus, Thailand and Department of Estonian and Comparative Folklore, University of Tartu, Estonia. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Tribal Studies, experienced with various academic administrative positions like Head of the Department of Tribal Studies, Department of Tribal Folklore, Language and Literature, Department of Human Rights and Conflict Management, Coordinator of the Centre for Indigenous Culture Studies, Department of Performing Arts, Dean of School for the Study of Culture, School of Languages, School for the Study of Culture, Administrative Warden, Proctor, Transport In charge of the Central University of Jharkhand. He is also Chairman and members of various bodies like Board of Studies, School Board, Board of Research Studies, Academic Council, Anti-Ragging Cell, NCC Cell etc.

He was Editorial Assistant in Assamese Encyclopaedia Project: World Literature and Folk Literature Volume: V, VIII and IX. He is also editorial Board members or reviewer of UGC Care listed or refereed journals. He has organized many Academic events like Indian Folklore Congress, International Winter School many national and regional seminars, Webinars at Central University of Jharkhand and Thailand.

He has completed many Social Impact Assessment program under the Government of Jharkhand. He has participated more than 50 conferences till now either for present research paper or as dignitary. He has published more than 170 articles in different journals, books etc. Most of his writings are on field work based (primary source only). His published books are Indigenous Culture and Dances of Jharkhand, Tradition, Identity and Diversity: The Future of Indigenous Culture in a Globalised World, Tribes in Contemporary India: Orality, Identity and Development. His last edited book BHASA SAHITYA SANSKRITIR DHETOR KOLA (in Assamese), published in February, 2020.

He is Member of International Society for Folk Narrative Research, Member of International Society for Studies in Oral Tradition, Member of Academic Folklore Society, Member of North-East India Council for Social Science Research, Member of "Indian Council for Cultural Relations Forum of Friends", Member of Indian Distance Education Association etc.

For his (i) remarkable contribution in promoting Tribal and Human Rights, the National Human Rights and Crime Control Bureau awarded NELSON MANDELA HUMAN RIGHTS AWARD 2019, on 24th June, 2019 and (ii) for outstanding contribution in the field of Promotion of Jharkhand Folklore in National & International Level Naman International Foundation for Education and Social Research presented NAMAN BIRSA MUNDA JHARKHAND RATNA 2021 at the National Seminar on Education & Youth Leadership on 14th November, 2021 held at Ranchi Press Club.

Mr. Amit Kumar

He Passed B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Tezpur University, Assam and Master of Social Work (Gold Medallist) from Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar.

He has worked for Social Impact Assessment program by Working as a field investigator in the state of Bihar to collect primary data for the IIT Madras study on challenges accessing Ayushman Bharat-Pradhaan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana".

He has attended more than 10 International and National conferences/seminars/ webinars and workshops in and has published more than 15 articles in different journals, books, conference proceedings etc.

He is currently working as Assistant Professor (Temporary) in Department of Contemporary and Tribal Customary Law, Central University of Jharkhand and also pursuing PhD in the Department of Tribal Studies focusing on the Folk life and Intra cum Interventional development approach of Kumhar Community in Jharkhand.
